BOYCOTT ISRAEL: our latest bus ad now running in San Francisco
NoTaxDollarsToIsrael has again partnered with Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign (SeaMAC) for a new bus ad with the statementBOYCOTT ISRAEL UNTIL PALESTINIANS HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS, to run for four weeks in San Francisco. The ad will also run for four weeks on public buses in Washington DC, Denver, and Portland OR in a coordinated campaign between SeaMAC and groups in those cities.
Why is it not running in Seattle, SeaMAC’s home? Because it has been censored by King County, in which Seattle is located, that’s why. And the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld the censorship. Last week, ACLU and SeaMAC announced that they will appeal that decision to an “en banc” panel of eleven Ninth Circuit judges.
In related developments, Israel’s high court recently affirmed a controversial law making it illegal to advocate for boycott of Israel’s illegal settlements in the West Bank. The U.S. Congress is also considering a bill that would pressure the European Union to roll back recent steps that oppose Israel’s settlements.
No Tax Dollars to Israel is a dedicated website created by the Free Palestine Movement to inform readers who see the paid advertisements and want to learn more. It also collects donations intended solely for advertising. Donations to the Free Palestine Movement are shared between advertising and other FPM projects, but we note that as of this moment our advertising funds are depleted and our other funds are low. If we do not receive a minimum of $6,500 in new donations in the next few months, it is unlikely that we will be able to do further advertising.
